As the fiscal 2025 spending process kicks off in earnest, House Republican appropriators are shaking up their subcommittee leadership following Rep. Tom Cole’s rise to chair of the full committee.

Cole, an Oklahoma Republican who was unopposed in claiming the gavel this week, had been chair of the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee.

Taking Cole’s slot atop that panel will be Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.), who will leave his perch at the Financial Services Subcommittee, Womack’s office confirmed Thursday.

Taking Womack’s gavel on Financial Services is Rep. Dave Joyce (R-Ohio), who led the Homeland Security Subcommittee through the fiscal 2024 appropriations process.
