Greg White, the executive director for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, said Monday he’s retiring at the end of the year.

White oversaw a rise in new partnerships as leader of the state utility regulators’ group for almost nine years, including a first-of-its-kind effort with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to boost grid collaboration and participation in an Energy Department-backed collaborative to help deploy advanced nuclear reactors.

White has long been an advocate for a federal nuclear waste program, including by pushing on the issue during a hearing last week of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

White said in a statement Monday that it has been his “greatest privilege” and “an amazing honor” to work with NARUC and its staff.
