The agency said that it had discovered Tesla submitted reports sometimes “several months or more” after the crash happened.

Agency rules require that crash reports be submitted in most cases within five days after the automaker is notified about the crash. But NHTSA said that it had discovered Tesla submitted reports sometimes “several months or more” after the crash happened.
