A group of anonymous national park rangers is guiding visitors on how cover an image of President Donald Trump’s face on this year’s park passes without invalidating them.

The Interior Department announced last month that the president’s face would adorn some America the Beautiful passes in 2026, which grant entry to national parks and other public lands for the year. Passes for U.S. residents show an image of Trump next to former President George Washington. The annual military pass also presents Trump saluting troops.

A cottage industry has since sprung up of stickers to cover the president’s image on the passes. But under updated the National Park Service guidance, those stickers could invalidate the cards. The new guidance, first reported by the website SFGate, explicitly cites stickers as verboten.

Interior spokesperson Elizabeth Peace said in a statement that invalidating passes that have been altered is a long-standing policy.
