A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee will vote this week on legislation to reauthorize key cybersecurity programs at the Department of Energy as well as launch initiatives aimed at protecting U.S. energy infrastructure.

The Subcommittee on Energy will mark up five bipartisan bills designed to strengthen federal-private sector collaboration, improve detection of cyber threats and bolster physical security for energy infrastructure.

“We must ensure America’s electric grid is secure and resilient for families and businesses across the country,” subcommittee Chair Bob Latta (R-Ohio) said. “From extreme weather to physical and cyberattacks by adversaries that could disrupt our power supply, protecting the grid is a national priority.”
