Two of President Joe Biden’s nominees to critical energy and environment agencies may have a harder time getting confirmed during the lame-duck session, as Republicans look forward to controlling both the Senate and White House next year.

The Environment and Public Works Committee is planning to delay a vote on President Joe Biden’s pick to fill the fifth and final spot on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

At the same time, Democrats may not want to use floor time to approve Interior deputy nominee Shannon Estenoz as the Biden-Harris administration winds down.
