Voters will decide in November whether to keep the program, one of only two economywide carbon markets in the United States.

A majority of voters in Washington state favor a ballot measure that would kill the state’s fledgling carbon market, a recent poll said.

The survey by Scott Rasmussen’s RMG Research asked 800 registered voters their feelings about repealing the Evergreen State’s carbon cap-and-trade program.

More voters said they supported repeal than opposed it, with 45 percent either strongly favoring or somewhat favoring an end to the carbon market. In contrast, 39 percent of those polled said they either strongly or somewhat opposed a repeal.
