A letter from the panel’s GOP majority to International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol released Friday is part of an ongoing pressure campaign on the global agency because of its advocacy for clean energy.

Earlier this year the IEA said its 2025 World Energy Outlook — coming out this month — would include a current policies scenario. The agency had scrapped such a forecast after 2020, opting for predictions based on efforts to boost renewable energy and meet the Paris climate accords.
