Senate GOP coy on strategy for undoing California waivers

The Senate may begin the process Wednesday of undoing Biden administration approval for strict California vehicle emissions rules.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) announced on Tuesday — after months of speculation — that Republicans would challenge Congress’ watchdog and the parliamentarian to scrap EPA Clean Air Act waivers.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), who had previously been skeptical of using the Congressional Review Act against the regulations, said she was on board.

“I am going to vote for it,” Collins told reporters.
