Senators will hear from the country’s only privately-run high speed railroad Wednesday as they start working on the next five-year surface transportation bill.

Husein Cumber, president of Brightline Holdings, will be among the witnesses as the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Surface Transportation digs into rail issues, in a hearing titled, “On the right track: Modernizing America’s railroads.”

Other witnesses will include the head of the Association of American Railroads and a representative of the Association of Short Line Railroads.
