The Senate will likely confirm President Donald Trump’s latest nominee to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission next week, along with his pick to lead NASA.

Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) moved to wind down debate on Douglas Weaver to fill the fifth and last open seat on the NRC and Jared Isaacman for NASA.

The Environment and Public Works Committee cleared Weaver with support from ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) despite Democratic concerns about the White House amending the nominee’s answers to questions for the record. Weaver is a veteran of both the NRC and the private-sector nuclear industry.
