The Senate is poised to confirm dozens of administration nominees — including on energy and the environment — before leaving for the holiday recess this week.
Republicans are advancing some nominees as part of an en-bloc package under new Senate rules. Others are moving forward on their own.
On Thursday, Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) called up votes on Douglas Weaver to fill the last open seat on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Jared Isaacman to lead NASA. Both secured bipartisan support in committee last week.
Republicans, however, are moving along party lines to confirm nominees to EPA, NOAA, the Tennessee Valley Authority and other agencies en bloc.
