Senate Environment and Public Works Committee members grilled senior Army Corps of Engineers officials Wednesday on water infrastructure studies, arguing they have fallen behind schedule.

Chair Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) asked about a provision in last year’s Water Resources Development Act that directed the agency to develop a plan for implementing projects nationwide that reduce flood risks, restore aquatic ecosystems and improve navigation.
