The House plans to vote this week on legislation that would codify a Trump executive order rolling back showerhead efficiency standards.

Lawmakers debated South Carolina GOP Rep. Russell Fry’s “Saving Homeowners from Overregulation With Exceptional Rinsing (SHOWER) Act,” H.R. 4593, last week but didn’t take a final vote.

It’s unclear why leaders delayed voting on the “SHOWER Act,” but it may have been a question of numbers. The GOP majority in the House is thin and there were 12 Republicans who didn’t vote Friday.

Another efficiency bill did secure a vote Friday and got 57 Democratic votes. Indiana GOP Rep. Erin Houchin’s “Affordable HOMES Act,” H.R. 5184, would give the Department of Housing and Urban Development sole responsibility for setting efficiency standards for mobile homes.
