The Sunrise Movement is endorsing two more challengers to incumbent congressional Democrats as the climate group promises its “most ambitious primary program ever.”

The youth-led climate organization on Thursday announced that it’s backing Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s 13th District and Justin J. Pearson in Tennessee’s 9th District.

McKinney, a Michigan state representative, is vying to unseat incumbent Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar. Pearson is a Tennessee state House member challenging incumbent Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen.

“McKinney represents a new generation of leadership shaped by a willingness to challenge entrenched power,” Sunrise said in its announcement Thursday. “Sunrise’s endorsement reflects its commitment to electing leaders who will stand up to billionaire elites and corporate PACs while fighting for a government that works for everyday people.”
