The Wilson Center announced a “revamped” fellowship program after the administration scaled back the organization.

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is bringing back fellows as the Washington think tank adjusts to new constraints imposed by the Trump administration.

After the administration’s early push to eliminate most of the long-standing think tank, the Wilson Center announced that it has reconfigured with a smaller staff and a new, narrower focus.

The think tank announced two new distinguished fellows Monday after fellows with the center received termination notices earlier this year. The Wilson Center previously boasted a global network of “more than 4,500 fellows, scholars, and alumni drawn from former officials, pioneering researchers, world-renowned journalists, and other innovative thinkers.”

David Hale and Philip Reeker have rejoined the Wilson Center as distinguished fellows as part of a “revamped fellowship program,” the Wilson Center announced. Both served in the U.S. Foreign Service under both Republican and Democratic administrations. Hale was previously a global fellow at the Wilson Center; Reeker chaired the Wilson Center’s Global Europe Program.
