More than 150,000 jobs have been lost or delayed nationwide due to the Trump administration’s hostility toward clean energy, according to a new report from advocacy group Climate Power.

More than 6,500 jobs and $2.5 billion in investments have been lost in New York due to the Trump administration’s energy policies, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said during a press conference Friday.

“This should not be a partisan issue,” Hochul said. “If the president truly wants energy independence and all the above, he has to include clean energy projects.”

The federal government’s antipathy to clean energy has impacted nearly 159,000 energy jobs across the country since President Donald Trump’s election. More than 300 energy projects in 34 states have been canceled, delayed or laid off staff, representing more than $52 billion in investments, according to a new report from the advocacy group Climate Power.
