Two high-profile EPA picks are on a list of nominees Senate Republicans want to confirm in the coming days.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) submitted a resolution with dozens of candidates Monday evening. He’s looking to approve them en bloc under new rules approved this summer.
The list includes Jeffrey Hall to lead EPA’s enforcement office and Douglas Troutman to head the agency’s chemicals office. Both passed the Environment and Public Works Committee in October along party lines.
Senate Republicans changed the rules for considering lower-level administration nominees because of Democratic resistance to OK President Donald Trump’s selections by voice vote or unanimous consent.
