The Trump administration offered scant details about its planned mass layoffs of federal workers in court document filed Friday afternoon, including how many Interior Department staff could be let go as soon as next week despite a temporary restraining order.

In a series of declarations filed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, each agency detailed its current plans for reductions in force, the name for layoffs within the federal government.

The document came at the direction of Senior Judge Susan Illston, who on Wednesday temporarily barred the Trump administration from issuing layoffs during the ongoing federal government shutdown or from enforcing any RIF notices already issued.
