The lawsuit is the latest accusing the administration of refusing to release details about its plans to fire employees and shrink programs.

An environmental group sued the Trump administration Thursday, accusing it of failing to release information about mass firings at NOAA.

The Center for Biological Diversity says the disruption is affecting critical ocean conservation work and the details should be made public.

“The defendant’s delays in providing responsive records may be imperiling wildlife, fisheries management, and ocean safety by frustrating public transparency,” states the lawsuit filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

The group filed a March 4 Freedom of Information Act request with NOAA, requesting job descriptions of employees fired under an agency sweep by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency and details about workforce and funding cuts and an agency reorganization plan. It also sought information about contracts or grants for projects to conserve endangered species or marine mammals that were canceled or put on hold.
