President Donald Trump announced Wednesday he plans to put EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin in charge of wildfire recovery in Los Angeles, part of the administration’s bid to seize control of rebuilding efforts from the state and local governments.

Trump revealed his plan while onstage in Washington at an unrelated event tied to a program for investment accounts for children that the administration has dubbed “Trump Accounts.”

While introducing people who were at the event, Trump began discussing the wildfires and Zeldin, who was at the event.
