The Trump administration on Monday quietly put forth more than two dozen nominees to permanently fill top posts across key agencies including the Interior, Energy, Transportation and Agriculture departments.
The White House submitted 28 nominations to the Senate for approval but held back from the typical aggrandizement of its candidates. Instead, the only notification appeared in the Congressional Record.
The White House press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but a spokesperson for Utah GOP Sen. Mike Lee, chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, said the panel received the nominations this week.
The nominations — which also include posts in the Defense, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, and Treasury departments — account for nearly 25 percent of all names put forth by President Donald Trump in the first weeks of his return to office.
