President Donald Trump has nominated a longtime financial services and real estate executive to run the General Services Administration, an agency at the center of his efforts to overhaul the federal government.
Trump has picked Edward Forst to lead GSA, which oversees federal buildings and procurement and was an early target of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
Forst has a long history in business and served as a Treasury Department adviser under the George W. Bush administration from 2008 to 2009, according to his LinkedIn bio.
He’s currently serving as chair of Lion Capital, a London-based investment firm with holdings in clothing, food and hospitality brands like American Apparel, Jimmy Choo and Gordon Ramsay.
