Trump vows more plans to ‘bring back affordability’

President Donald Trump touted his work to scrap environmental regulations, pledged to boost “affordability” and berated his GOP critics Tuesday during a speech in Detroit.

The president laid out some of his top priorities as the pivotal midterm election year kicks off and as Democrats are looking to make political headway by hammering Republicans on “affordability” and the cost of living.

“In the coming weeks, I will be laying out even more plans to help bring back affordability,” Trump said at the Detroit Economic Club. “And again, remember, that’s a fake word by Democrats,” he said. “Prices were too high. They caused the high price.”

In the Motor City, Trump ticked off a series of deregulatory moves his administration has made so far, including a host of efforts to roll back Biden-era regulations, including some with significant consequences for the auto industry.
