Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday said he’s ready to sign a minerals and security agreement with the U.S. after a heated Oval Office meeting derailed discussions last week.

“Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively,” he wrote on the social media platform X.

Zelenskyy said his meeting in Washington on Friday “did not go the way it was supposed to be,” adding it’s “regrettable that it happened this way” and said “it is time to make things right.”
