Video series’ comical takes on science earn big award

Rollie Williams is a funny man who knows climate change is no laughing matter.

Now, the creator of the video series “Climate Town” has earned high regard and some pretty serious dough as one of the country’s top science communicators.

Williams is taking back to his Brooklyn home a $40,000 prize and, he said, a “huge confidence boost” from his receiving one of the top Eric and Wendy Schmidt Awards for Excellence in Science Communications.

“Climate communication is a fairly new and untested world, and such a prestigious award makes me feel like I’m on the right track,” Williams said in a statement.
