The Western States Petroleum Association’s longtime CEO will step down at the end of the year, the petroleum trade group announced Wednesday.
What happened: WSPA President and CEO Catherine Reheis-Boyd told the board of directors Wednesday she planned to depart at the end of 2025, after 35 years at the organization.
“I am deeply grateful for my time representing WSPA, our member companies and an industry that provides affordable, reliable and ever cleaner energy to the communities we all serve,” Reheis-Boyd said in a statement.
Context: As the head of the leading oil trade group for Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, Reheis-Boyd has been at the forefront of high-profile battles over California’s efforts to wean the state off of fossil fuels.
