EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin heads to California this week as part of an effort to speed rebuilding of homes lost in the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles.
Zeldin and Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler will be in the Pacific Palisades on Wednesday to hold a roundtable with residents and business owners on their push to rebuild after last year’s disaster as well as answer questions from the press.
Last week, President Donald Trump tapped the EPA administrator to help expedite the permitting process. On Jan. 23, the president signed an executive order to allow home and other structures lost to the fires to be rebuilt as well as preempt state and local permitting.
Zeldin, appearing on Fox and Friends on Monday morning, said the pace in rebuilding homes lost to the wildfires needs to pick up. He pointed to the quick federal cleanup effort last year when EPA removed and disposed of hazardous materials.
