TOLEDO, Ohio — The Trump administration’s planned repeal of a major climate change policy is in the works, but it’s not ready to be rolled out just yet, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said Friday.

The administration’s allies and critics alike are watching closely for a final announcement about repealing the so-called endangerment finding after EPA’s plans landed in the White House for a final review in early January.

The Trump team is expected to finalize its proposal to scrap the Obama-era determination that greenhouse gases “endanger” human health and welfare. That finding underpins EPA climate rules the Trump administration is also planning to unravel.

Zeldin, who spoke to reporters after a news conference at an auto plant here on Friday, declined to give a specific time frame for the announcement, but suggested that the White House review process could take some time.
