Geoffrey Jervis, co-founder and CEO of Mint Eco Car Wash and a former Wall Street executive, is poised to lead a strategic office within the Energy Department focused on securing supply chains and critical minerals and doling out tens of billions of dollars in federal grants, according to the agency’s registry.
Jervis is named in the directory as the new director of DOE’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, which DOE on its website says “serves as the frontline of America’s energy manufacturing deployment and supply chain security” through $20 billion of direct investments.
While DOE did not immediately respond when asked for comment, the registry cites a cellphone that is listed for Jervis at Mint Eco Car Wash, based in West Palm Beach, Florida. The car wash company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The car wash executive and Wall Street vet will oversee an office created in 2022 that’s been tasked with analyzing vulnerabilities in — and ultimately strengthening — the nation’s supply chains. MESC is currently funding more than 375 projects from batteries to grid component and critical minerals projects, but that funding has been tied up in an ongoing freeze.
