Several solar industry groups and other green energy advocates are heading to Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a lobbying push to save Inflation Reduction Act tax credits from Republican cuts.

The Solar Energy Industries Association, the Business Council for Sustainable Energy and the National Hydropower Association are among the organizations meeting with lawmakers. The groups have over 100 meetings scheduled with Republicans and Democrats.

Morgan Lyons, a spokesperson for SEIA, said the lobbying effort would include meetings with GOP members who have expressed interest in preserving at least some of the energy-boosting credits in the IRA.

“We’re bringing 160 SEIA members to the Hill tomorrow to meet with dozens of offices from both parties,” Lyons said in an email. “There is a group of Republican members that have publicly expressed support for energy tax credits, so we’re of course meeting with many of those folks.”
