A Washington court this week handed former President Donald Trump’s top environmental attorney a narrow win in his fight to save his law license amid investigations of his work to undermine the results of the 2020 election.
In an order issued Monday, the D.C. Court of Appeals sided with Jeffrey Bossert Clark’s argument that a subpoena for documents supporting his election claims would violate the rights of the former head of the Justice Department’s environmental division to protect himself from self-incrimination.

Three judges of the court denied a motion from the D.C. Bar Office of Disciplinary Counsel “because it infringes on Mr. Clark’s Fifth Amendment right not to be compelled to be a witness against himself.”
The court added that “an opinion will issue in due course.”
