The Senate will take a final vote as soon as Thursday to confirm several dozen of President Donald Trump’s agency and ambassador nominees.
The roll call to confirm the picks will be the culmination of numerous procedural votes and weeks of intense partisan debate over changing the chamber’s rules. The majority party will now be able to confirm certain nominees en bloc by simple majority.
The first list, released last week, includes Jessica Kramer to lead EPA’s water office, Katherine Scarlett for the White House Council on Environmental Quality and Leslie Beyer to become assistant Interior secretary for land and minerals management.
Also on the list are Dario Gil to be undersecretary of Energy for science, Theodore Garrish to be assistant Energy secretary for nuclear, Kyle Haustveit to lead the Office of Fossil Energy, Conner Prochaska to head the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, Paul Roberti to run the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and Tristan Abbey to lead the Energy Information Administration.
